Ayurveda

The ancient Indian science of life, is not merely a system of healing – it is a profound philosophy grounded in nature’s wisdom. At its core lies the understanding that true health arises from harmony between the body, mind, and spirit, in alignment with the five great elements (Panchamahabhuta): earth (prithvi), water (ap), fire (tejas), air (vayu), and space (akasha).

Rather than treating symptoms in isolation, Ayurveda seeks to identify and eliminate disease at its root. This is achieved by understanding the unique constitution (prakriti) of each individual, shaped by the interplay of the three doshas: Vata, Pitta and Kapha. Imbalance among these forces disturbs the natural order and gives rise to illness.

Through personalised diet, lifestyle, panchakarma procedures and herbal interventions, Ayurveda restores doshic equilibrium, allowing the body’s innate healing intelligence to flourish. The goal is not simply to feel better – it is to return to one’s natural state of balance where disease cannot thrive.

In this holistic tradition, the body is more than a vessel; it is a mirror of the cosmos, constantly reflecting the rhythms of nature. Ayurveda teaches us to read this reflection – to understand not just what has gone wrong, but why and to intervene with wisdom that honours both science and spirit.

Rinku Bhalgat’s Story & Philosophy

A physician with classical training in Ayurveda, Rinku Bhalgat holds a Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) from India, Known for her extraordinary ability to diagnose through Nadi Pariksha (pulse reading), she carries forward an unbroken lineage of healing passed down by revered Vaidyas (traditional Ayurvedic masters) under whom she apprenticed for years.

Rinku Bhalgat was brought up in a household where Sanskrit was not only studied but also practiced, and where her mother, a Naturopath, was trained in the healing arts before she could even give them names. In addition to observing symptoms, her senses were educated to listen to each soul’s prakriti, or innate makeup.

Her path continued beyond custom. She studied Systemic and Family Therapy, Transpersonal Psychology, and the Psychology of Addiction at the University of Oxford, fusing Western and Eastern knowledge. According to her, genuine healing occurs when the mind, spirit, and body come together – not via intervention, but through alignment.

“Healing is not about repair”, she says. “It’s about reconnection. The body already knows the way – Ayurveda simply brings it back to its song”.

The word Ayurveda translates to; the science of life, reflecting its holistic philosophy that true wellness encompasses physical vitality, mental clarity, emotional stability, and spiritual connection. Unlike Western medicine’s focus on treating disease, Ayurveda emphasizes prevention, balance, and supporting the body’s innate healing intelligence. When we live in harmony with our natural constitution and the rhythms of nature, health flows naturally. Disease arises only when this balance is disrupted.

    Understanding the Ayurvedic Framework

At the heart of Ayurvedic philosophy lies the concept of the three doshas—Vata, Pitta, and Kapha. These are fundamental energies or principles that govern all physiological and psychological functions in the body and mind. Vata, composed of air and ether elements, governs movement, circulation, breathing, and nervous system function. When balanced, Vata brings creativity, enthusiasm, and quick thinking. Imbalanced Vata manifests as anxiety, insomnia, digestive irregularity, dry skin, and restlessness.

Pitta, made of fire and water elements, controls metabolism, digestion, body temperature, and transformation. Balanced Pitta creates sharp intelligence, strong digestion, a healthy complexion, and a goal-oriented drive. Excess Pitta shows up as inflammation, acid reflux, skin rashes, irritability, and perfectionism that borders on aggression.
